AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - A man is dead after being struck by a Southwest Airlines jet landing at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas on Thursday.
Just after 8 p.m., Southwest Flight 1392, from Dallas Love field, had touched down in Austin when the man on foot suddenly crossed in front of the plane.
Investigators have no idea why he was on the runway. It's not clear if he was an airport employee.
After the flight crew reported seeing the man, the driver of an Airport Operations vehicle was sent out to check and found the victim already dead.
