DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Boxer Errol Spence Jr. has been injured and in the ICU following an early morning car accident in Dallas.
Police say Spence was driving a white Ferrari at a "high rate of speed" when he lost control, heading north on Riverfront. They say Spence veered over the center median and into the southbound lanes.
Police say Spence "flipped multiple times, ejecting the driver." They say Spence was not wearing a seatbelt.
Spence was taken to Methodist Dallas, where he was in intensive care Thursday morning. Police say he is expected to survive.
Spence is 26-0. He holds both the WBC and IBF welterweight titles.
He won the IBF title Sept. 28 in his last match before the crash.
Dallas police say they are still investigating to confirm the cause of the crash.
