NEW YORK (WFAN.com) -- WFAN host Joe Benigno, a lifelong New York Jets fan, was feeling good about the team's moves in free agency.
And then Anthony Barr happened.
The linebacker, who reportedly had agreed to terms with the Jets on Monday night, backed out of the deal Tuesday and will return to the Minnesota Vikings. It looked as though the Jets had landed arguably the top two linebackers in free agency: Barr and C.J. Mosley, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens. But that didn't quite pan out.
"Does that mean Mosley's not going to sign now, too?" Benigno said after his co-host, Evan Roberts, reported on Barr's change of heart.
"Can you imagine?" Roberts responded.
"No, I could. I'm a Jet fan," Benigno said. "Why wouldn't I imagine that?"
"I'm not so excited anymore," Benigno added. "I wanted Barr more than Mosley."
