No one has died from the shootings and most of the victims are in stable condition, according to Chicago police. The majority of the violence happened in two-hour stretch from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The Laporte County sheriff’s deputy was in critical condition Friday afternoon after the shooting in the emergency department of Franciscan Health Michigan City. The deputy had stopped on the highway to help the 22-year-old Chicago man and brought him to the hospital.
