Fall is here, and I’ve put together my full guide to help you create seasonal memories! I’ve got you covered with everything from spooky wine tastings and hands-on fall workshops to haunted farms, rail bikes through Bucks County foliage, and even a vampire museum. Whether you're planning a girls' night, a family night at home, or a date night with a little scare factor, there's something on this list for you. 1. Bloomsday's Spooky Wines + Spooky Stories Class
Get into the Halloween spirit at Bloomsday on Tuesday, October 27th from 6 to 8 PM. Beverage Director Chris Liu and Sande Friedman of Friends in Wine will guide guests through a tasting of 6 to 8 wines from around the world, digging into why wine terms like "sanguine" and "bloody" show up on labels, the connection between White Zinfandel and murder, and other funky pairings and creepy label lore. It's part of Bloomsday's monthly wine class series, designed to make wine approachable and fun. Tickets are required and include a family-style meal and a 10% wine shop discount. 2. Blue Heron Malvern Fall Workshop
Blue Heron in Malvern hosts hands-on workshops that go beyond your typical class. The small women-owned business partners with talented local women artisans to create unique, creative experiences in an intimate, welcoming space. Fall Decoupage Vase & Bloom Bar Workshop
Wednesday, September 24th at 6:30 PM, you'll learn the art of decoupage, transforming a simple glass vase with beautiful paper designs, then head to the Bloom Bar to hand-select fresh flowers for your own arrangement. You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind vase filled with flowers, ready to display at home.
Dried Botanical Pumpkin Workshop
Cozy up for an evening of candlelight and autumn magic on Thursday, October 1st at 6:30 PM. You'll transform a large pumpkin with dried flowers, grasses, seed pods, and moss into a moody, garden-inspired arrangement. No carving, no floral experience needed. Enjoy seasonal snacks while you create alongside friends.
Halloween Painting Workshop
Kick off spooky season on Thursday, October 8th at 6:30 PM with a local ceramic artist. This BYOB (yes bring wine) class walks you through the basics of ceramic painting as you decorate your own Halloween-themed candy jar and gnome. Come dressed in your Halloween best and enjoy a fun night out solo or with friends.
Fall Painting Workshop
On Thursday, October 22nd at 6:30 PM it’s time for pottery painting. You'll design and paint your own ceramic platter. Think pumpkins, leaves, turkeys, or whatever fall design you dream up. Your piece gets fired in a kiln afterward, ready to use for holiday gatherings for years to come.
Fall Cake Decorating Workshop
Black Bear Bakery will guide you through this fall-inspired cake decorating class on Thursday, November 12th from 6 to 8:30 PM. You'll learn simple techniques like buttercream leaves and autumn color work at your own pace. This class is great for beginners and experienced bakers. Enjoy charcuterie while you decorate, and feel free to bring your own wine, beer, or cider. Woohooo!
Thanksgiving Tablescape Workshop
November 24th at 6:30 PM you can participate in a hands-on Thanksgiving centerpiece workshop. You'll learn the basics of floral arranging while working with autumn blooms and harvest-inspired accents to create a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table. No experience needed and bring wine!
3. The Great Pocono Pumpkin Festival
Fall is in full swing at Country Junction in Lehighton, home to The Great Pocono Pumpkin Festival, running every Saturday and Sunday from September 26th through October 25th, 11 AM to 6 PM. This family-friendly festival has something for all ages - pick your perfect pumpkin, hop on a scenic hayride, test your aim in laser tag, and wander through the mind-bending 3D Pumpkin Fun House. New this year, the hayride takes a Wizard of Oz twist, complete with characters in Munchkinland on the way to the Emerald City, plus an all-new Tricky Trail Maze and a Bigfoot-hunting paintball run.
Country Junction is the World's Largest General Store, combining a hardware store, pet department, furniture, food and bakery counters, and a full fun center complete with an arcade, bumper cars, mini bowling, and a petting zoo.
Just 0.2 miles down the road is the Waldorf Estate of Fear! If you're looking to do a haunted attraction, it's open Fridays and Saturdays throughout October.
4. DIY at Home: Spooky Planters
Looking for something fun to do at home with the kids? I’ve got the perfect family craft night for you. Try your hand at spooky planters this fall. Pick up a creepy-cute pot (think skeleton hands and legs, glowing skull planters, or bone-covered designs) fill it with a succulent or your favorite fall plant, and you've got an easy, no-pressure DIY that doubles as Halloween decor. You can find spooky planter options at Walmart, Home Depot, and specialty shops like The Spooky Pots Store online. It's a great family night activity that works for all ages and skill levels.
5. Miller's Haunted Farm
You've been warned, but you're going anyway! Miller's Haunted Farm is back this season with two attractions designed to wreck your nerves. My son loves haunted attractions, so I love finding new places to visit with him. First up is Miller's Haunted Woods, a mile-long walk deep into the dark where creatures and nightmares are waiting around every turn. This is best with a group of 2 to 10, so bring backup. Think you survived that? Miller's Haunted Maze is next, packed with twists, turns, and things that should probably stay buried, and this one's built for smaller crews of 2 to 5. Two attractions, one haunted farm, and zero guarantees you're sleeping that night. Miller's is exactly the kind of scare that makes a great fall weekend for the teens.
6. The Garden Girl Company - Doylestown
The Garden Girl Company recently opened its shop at 180 W. State Street in Doylestown, where they host hands-on, garden-inspired workshops every Wednesday at 6 PM and Saturdays at 11 AM. You know I love a good fall workshop, and I love finding new places to try even more! You can choose from Fall Container Gardening, Succulent Hanging Baskets, Living Succulent Pumpkins, Heirloom Pumpkins with Dried Flowers, and Seasonal Wreath Decorating. We can even prep for Christmas at the Bow Making Workshop in November. The workshops are about more than simply making something. They’re an opportunity to learn something new, make something beautiful, and spend a little time doing something fun with friends, family, or even coming on your own and meeting new people. 7. New Hope Rail Bikes
It doesn’t get much better than a gorgeous fall day in Bucks County! Hop on an electric rail bike and pedal right through the Bucks County countryside on train tracks. No cars, no crowds, just you, the foliage, and the open rails. It's brand new for 2026, easy enough for the whole family (kids as young as three can ride along), and the pedal assist does the heavy lifting so you can actually enjoy the view. Ride the historic rails on weekends from Lahaska to Buckingham or on weekdays from New Hope to Lahaska. You can roll right into Peddler's Village afterwards for shopping, food, and to check out the scarecrow festival. It's a family-run railroad, so your ticket keeps this whole piece of Bucks County history and the people running it going strong.

8. The Coffin Bar
In Lancaster City, Spring House Brewing took a 60-year-old bar shaped like an actual coffin and turned it into a fun, offbeat spot, The Coffin Bar. The decor leans gothic and Halloween-coded, but tastefully. It's paired with good food and drinks, from seasonal comfort dishes to some adventurous cocktails and a lineup of award-winning craft brews. Good, evil, life, death — doesn't matter what you're celebrating, there's a seat at The Coffin for you. It's right in downtown and an easy walk to plenty of other spots if you want to make a full day or night of exploring Lancaster City. Kathy’s fall tip of the day: Stop by one of the farms along the way for mums and pumpkins at a great price!

9. Broom Stick Wreath Workshop
Don’t feel like going out? No worries, I got you covered! Gather your girls, Finan Rose's Broomstick Wreath Workshop has us making our own rustic, whimsical wreath out of dried flowers and botanicals with her at-home workshops. The best part is you don't have to plan a thing! Finan Rose brings all the materials right to your house, guides the hour-long workshop, and throws in a Midnight Margarita recipe card and a Halloween playlist, so all you have to do is invite your people and pour the wine. 10. VAMPA Museum
If you think you've seen every kind of museum, Doylestown's got one that'll surprise you: VAMPA, the Vampire and Paranormal Museum. It’s home to one of the only collections in the country devoted entirely to vampire lore, exorcism relics, and the paranormal. Inside you'll find rare artifacts dating back to the 1700s, including ornate vampire-killing kits, an intact exorcism chair, and centuries of objects built around one very simple human obsession: the line between good, evil, and whatever's in between. It's exactly the kind of offbeat fall day trip that makes for a great story afterward. This fall VAMPA is going even bigger with Fangs and Fire, a gothic masquerade on October 17th at the nearby Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, complete with live fire performances and a costume procession.
