Well, it's a medication used with diet and exercise to help with blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. The medication provides powerful A1C reduction, which refers to the amount of sugar in your body, as well as reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular issues.

While not a weight loss drug, many people have lost weight while taking Ozempic. One of the active ingredients is also seen certain weight loss medications. In addition to stimulating insulin levels, Ozempic works to decrease the appetite to make people feel fuller. Because of this, weight loss can happen while taking it. But, make sure you talk to your doctor before starting this medication. Your doc will take a look at your health history to see if Ozempic is the right choice for you.

Among others, the most common side effects are vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, and stomach pain. On a more severe note, Ozempic could cause possible thyroid tumors, so notify your doctor immediately if you get a lump or swelling in your neck while taking it.

Currently, Ozempic is only approved by the FDA for patients with diabetes. But, a doctor could approve it for weight-loss purposes. The dosages are different in diabetic patients versus non-diabetics as well. Only take Ozempic if it has been cleared by your doctor, especially if you don't have diabetes.
