True motherly instincts come out when their baby’s heart gets broken, and that's exactly what Ingrid Andress means when she sings the line, “If I bring you home to mama, I guess I'd better warn ya, she falls in love a little faster than I do.”

We are celebrating all the moms! Whether biological, adopted, honorary, or anything in-between, the strong women and people who serve as mother figures, who influence us to be our best deserve celebration all the time. Kylie Minogue’s “Celebrate You” brings out the elation and smiles.

While Gaga may be referring to herself as “Mama” in this song, it also reminds us that moms are always there to pick us up when we’re down. From scraped knees to bruised feelings, something about a Mom’s hug makes the pain go away.

Okay, okay, we know Maren might not be singing about her mom in this song, but it can be interpreted to be an ode to mom if you try. When Morris sings, “I'll hold your hand when the storm's at the door, 'cause you got my back and I got yours,” it makes us think of the powerful bond between a mother and her grown daughter. As moms and daughters become older the love and care go both ways.

This is a no-brainer! King is singing about her “sweet darling” and feeling grateful for her child. We know that’s something plenty of mamas can relate to.

On “Little Green” Joni sings about giving her daughter up for adoption. The song makes us think about the fact that not all relationships between moms and daughters are typical, and that’s okay. From adopted moms to estranged moms to not having a mom, the most powerful thing about Mother’s Day is that we can celebrate any figures in our lives who have positively influenced us.

On Beyoncé’s “Blue” the superstar gives us a little glimpse into the unending love she has for her firstborn daughter, Blue Ivy. Tears definitely well up when Bey sings, “You and I together, come on, baby, won’t you hold on to me, hold on to me, Blue.”
