First, let’s talk Britney. Fresh off her book announcement and dropping her will.i.am collab single, “Mind Your Business,” Britney’s IG account went MIA.

While it’s not known why Brit Brit decided to take a social media break, this isn’t the first time she’s decided to deactivate. The most recent being this past December, which in turn prompted a reassuring message from her husband Sam Asghari to concerned fans about Spears’ Instagram activity. “Social media can be traumatizing,” he wrote. “Sometimes it’s good to take a break. She has her voice and is a free woman.” So, perhaps this time’s decision to stop, is just more of that sentiment.

As for Doja, after the outspoken artist shared some hostile thoughts and feelings on Twitter, and lashed out at her fanbase for calling themselves her “kittenz.” According to Hype Auditor, in consequence, Doja lost over 360,000 Instagram followers in the last 4 weeks, and numerous fan pages have deactivated their accounts. In addition to the depletion in her follower amount and fan pages, Doja decided to delete her Threads account.

In case you you aren’t already well-versed on the matter, one of the now-deleted tweets from Doja Cat read: “My fans don’t get to name themselves s**t. If you call yourself a ‘kitten’ or f***ing ‘kittenz’ that means you need to get off your phone and get a job and help your parents with the house.”

Outraging fans and just internet users in general, one in particular pointed out the hypocrisy of it all — being as Doja Cat’s stage name is, in fact, Doja CAT.

“Doja being mean to her fans for bc of the word kitten like her name isn’t doja CAT and she wasn’t dressed as a cat and meowed her way through an entire interview a few months ago oh she has lost her mind. Mind you, she’s being a b***h to the people that practically pay her bills," highlighting how the musician was the one who came up with the term ‘kittenz.’ Doja Cat responded, stating that she made up her stage name when she was “an alcoholic teen.”

Then, another fan commented, “I wanna hear you say (I do love you guys) As usual you say to your fans.” To which Doja replied, “I don’t though cuz i don’t even know y’all.

While many, actually over 360,000, have opted to drop her, Doja still has a few diehards in her corner who wholeheartedly believe that her actions are all a stunt and the work of her new alter ego "Scarlet," all in part to get “Attention” and promote her upcoming album.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
