
New music from Ed Sheeran is on the way in 2025 and he promises it’ll include his signature “big Pop.”

“It feels like I’m getting back into big Pop for the first time in a long time,” he disclosed in a recent interview with Variety. “It’s quite exciting.”
While it hasn’t been too long since Sheeran has treated fans to new music, his last two albums, – (Subtract) and Autumn Variations were definitely more on the subdued side and he’s looking back to returning to more upbeat bops.
According to Sheeran he already has the yet-to-be named project ready to go and plans to release it in 2025. He’s already shot two music videos for it and plans to shoot another two in the beginning of the new year.
While fans wait for the new music, they can enjoy Sheeran’s latest Christmas collaboration with Love Actually‘s Richard Curtis titled, “Under the Tree,” for Curtis’ Christmas animation, That Christmas, now streaming on Netflix.
Not the typical, jolly Christmas tune fans might expect from Sheeran, the 33-year-old shared the “sad Christmas tune” was an important one to write and share. “It’s the one thing I’ve wanted to write,” Sheeran shared of the tune that paints a picture of himself waiting on his father to come home for Christmas. “I’d never seen the need [to write] a sad Christmas song until writing this one… this is quite a lot of people’s realities at Christmas.”
