SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Memorial Day weekend is in the books, but an even bigger weekend is ahead down the shore.

Food takes center stage in Cape May, with its restaurant week as well as a strawberry festival. Speaking of strawberries, you’ll be able to find your fill of produce at a farmer’s market in Wildwood.

It’s a one-two punch of special events, however, that makes this weekend down the shore one you can’t miss.

Snoop Dogg live at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

On the heels of his appearance at WrestleMania XL in Philly, rap legend Snoop Dogg brings the party to the Atlantic City boardwalk. The Doggfather will take the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday, performing hits like “What’s My Name?” and “Gin and Juice.”

Tickets might be a little tougher to come by, with the cheapest seats selling for about $100 on the secondary market before tax and fees. Still, if you’re gonna drop a hundred like it's hot, it might as well be for the D-O-double-G.

Jersey Pride Celebration

New Jersey’s longest-running and largest LGBTQ Pride event returns to Asbury Park on Sunday. The Jersey Pride festival kicks off at noon with a parade that goes through the center of the city to the shore.

The parade is followed by a rally emceed by “Legendary” host Dashaun Wesley, with performers including Josh Zuckerman, Wyn Starks and Inaya Day. There will also be a family zone with rides, food vendors and community organizations distributing information on job opportunities, housing options and more. Tickets are $10.

Young Adult Pickleball Tournament

If you like pickleball and you’re between the ages of 18 and 35 years old, then you’ll want to grab a friend and enter Sea Isle City’s Young Adult Pickleball Tournament. The fun starts Friday at noon when 15 teams of two go at it, with prizes for the winners. It costs $20 per team to enter, but you’ll have to bring your own paddles.

Strawberry Festival

Cape May’s annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday features local artisans offering everything from handmade pottery and jewelry to artwork and apparel, and even honey and baked goods.

There will also be strawberries, in case you’re wondering. The fun starts at 9 a.m. at Wilbraham Park and goes through 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Cape May Restaurant Week

If you like dining out, Cape May’s Restaurant Week might be the event for you. Starting Sunday through June 9, more than two dozen restaurants offer three-course meals at a fixed price. Participating establishments include 410 Bank Street, Andrea Trattoria, Carney’s, Iccara Italian Bistro, Lobster House and more.

Menu pricing begins at $38 per person. Organizers strongly recommend making advance reservations.

Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market

More than 70 vendors will set up shop at Byrne Plaza in Wildwood every Saturday through Labor Day for the Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market. Now in its 11th season, the market features vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, beer and wine, spices and even CBD and hemp products. The market opens at 8 a.m. each week.
