Trevor Noah, Something Corporate, Bee Gees Gold and all of this weekend’s ‘Shore Things’

SOUTH JERSEY (KYW Newsradio) — Summer is winding down, but you wouldn’t know it looking at this weekend’s lineup of events at the Jersey Shore. A beloved emo band brings its latest reunion tour to a legendary venue in Asbury Park, while an iconic pop group gets an elaborate tribute in Atlantic City.

And if music isn’t what you’re hungry for, there’s comedy from stand-up sensation and former cable TV star Trevor Noah, as well as food and drink events from Atlantic City all the way to Wildwood.

Trevor Noah at Ocean Casino

Former “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah comes to Atlantic City’s Ocean Casino Resort on Friday night. The Grammy-nominated comedian’s “Off the Record” tour features his insightful yet irreverent perspectives on everything from politics and pop culture to race and his childhood in apartheid-era South Africa. Tickets start at $49.

Something Corporate at Stone Pony Summer Stage

Emo stalwarts Something Corporate are back together and taking their “Out of Office” tour to the Stone Pony’s outdoor Summer Stage in Asbury Park this weekend. The band’s core lineup, headed by Andrew McMahon, will bring favorites like “If You C Jordan,” “Hurricane” and “Konstantine” to Jersey Shore emo kids of all ages, rain or shine.

Tickets are available and $1 from every sale goes to the Dear Jack Foundation, founded by McMahon. The nonprofit benefits children with cancer and their families.

Bee Gees Gold at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

The Bee Gees were one of the most successful groups in the history of music, with nine No. 1 Billboard singles and hundreds of millions of albums sold worldwide. They may be no more, but their iconic music lives on through tribute band Bee Gees Gold, which comes to Atlantic City’s Hard Rock Hotel and Casino this weekend.

Bee Gees Gold plays Friday through Sunday, with two shows on Saturday. Fans are sure to hear hits like “Stayin’ Alive,” “Night Fever,” “You Should Be Dancing” and more. Tickets are available for each show.

Wildwoods August Restaurant Week

Jersey Shore foodies will find plenty to sate their appetites in Wildwood next week. The Wildwoods August Restaurant Week runs from Sunday, Aug. 25 through next Friday, Aug. 29. Dozens of participating restaurants will offer a three-course pre-fixe menu for $40 (plus tax and gratuity).

International Winefest at Golden Nugget Atlantic City

Fans of fine wine can get their fill at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City on Friday, starting at 7 p.m. The International Winefest event offers wines from around the world and award-winning cuisine, accompanied by live jazz music under the stars. Tickets are available at $79 (plus fees).
