Aaron Nola is returning to Philadelphia.

The 30-year-old right-hander has agreed to a seven-year, $172 million deal to remain with the Phillies, according to multiple reports.

While Nola is coming off a down year in 2023, he has largely been the team’s ace over the last several seasons and has given Philadelphia a dynamic 1-2 punch alongside Zack Wheeler.

Several other teams were reportedly interested in Nola, but he remains with the team he has been with his entire career.

In nine seasons with the Phillies, Nola has pitched to a career 3.72 ERA with a 1.13 WHIP. He has finished five of the last six seasons with at least 200 strikeouts, missing the mark only during the shortened 2020 season, and has finished in the top-five in Cy Young voting three times in his career.
