Former Eagles and now Chiefs head coach Andy Reid joined his former player Hugh Douglas and Joe Giglio on the 94WIP Midday Show.
The guys talked to Big Red about the Super Bowl, Hugh Douglas' career, the current Eagles, and more.
Reid was extremely complimentary of the Eagles, speaking specifically about Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and Howie Roseman.
On Jalen Hurts
"Yeah, he's a good one, boy. I'm happy for Howie [Roseman] and the staff there that they've got him. He's a good kid and he's a heck of a player. The Eagles are in good hands, man. Philadelphia will have an opportunity to win every year with him."
On Nick Sirianni and the Eagles organization
"I love that organization. I have nothing but great memories of it. I am pulling for them every week unless we have to play them. Coach Sirianni is phenomenal, I think they're in great hands there. He brings such great energy and he's a real smart football coach. I have the utmost respect for Howie and Jeffrey [Lurie], the whole bunch there. They do a good job."
On Howie Roseman
"He loves the personnel side of things and he's great with contracts, we all know that. He had a nice eye for talent and so I welcomed him on that side of things [during our time together] and I thought he did a great job. And I don't think he gets enough credit now throughout the NFL. To go through the phases that the team goes through, and the ups and the downs, and still be able to put a team together like he's got right now personnel wise I just think is tremendous. And then the ability to hire Coach Sirianni, that was a great hire for him. Doug Pederson was a great hire for him and he's put the team and the city in a place where they're competing for championships and that's all you can really ask for. The NFL you have the best in the world, 32 of the best in the world and he's right there at the top of it. So it's kind of a neat thing to watch."
On the James Bradberry holding call in the Super Bowl
"Well, [Bradberry] said it was [a hold], so I figured when the players say it then it probably is. Normally, they're not going to admit it, but he said that, 'I got him.' He did good, he got him twice in one play. But again, he's a good player. You know what, that was a heck of a game and both teams could have won the son of a gun. It was just one of those games."
On the Super Bowl field
"Yes, it was probably no different than what the Eagles were saying. It was slippery for both sides. They had a little hiccup before the game, I guess the night before the game, and somehow the field got moisture on it. It was slippery, that's just how it works, but we kind of caught it at the same time I'm sure they caught it."
On if the field affected the outcome of the game
"Listen, it was the same way for both teams. So I don't think so. I think it was what it was. I think both teams are kind of onto the next year now and moving forward, all that is in the past."
