The Washington Commanders are acquiring veteran quarterback Carson Wentz from the Indianapolis Colts, Adam Schefter reports for ESPN.
The trade package for Wentz is thought to include two third-round picks, Schefter says, adding that Washington has agreed to pay the full $28 million owed to Wentz in 2022, which includes a $5 million roster bonus that's due next week. Wentz is signed through the 2024 season with a potential out after this coming season.

Wentz, 29, threw for 3,563 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions for the Colts last season, his first in Indianapolis after being traded by the Eagles in March 2021. Two NFL teams have now moved on from the former first-round pick (2nd overall, 2016).
