Donovan McNabb seemed tempered in his reaction to the Eagles beating the defending champion Chiefs, an observation he did not dispute when Ike brought it up during the former quarterback’s appearance on Marks and Reese.
“It was a good win, a good regular season win, absolutely,” McNabb said.
“It doesn’t replace the loss in the Super Bowl, but at least it gives them confidence going forward.
“We all know as players, we would love for that game to have been the Super Bowl. There’s nothing we can do to replace that game that we played. It’s one we can at least add to the win column and put us in good position to get that No. 1 seed.”
While the Eagles will certainly take the win, which puts them on the fast track to earning the bye in the NFC, McNabb said there were still some concerns coming out of the victory that need to be addressed.
“There were still some moments in that game where it worked out in our favor,” McNabb said. “With the fumbles and dropped passes and a couple miscues that we had on defense, that we just can’t allow to happen in critical times in games.”
