Nick Castellanos: Watching Braves celebrate Game 2 win 'put me in a good mental space'

Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos has been a bank of memorable moments on the field -- and memorable quotes -- throughout the team's run to the NLCS.

The outfielder went deep twice off Braves starter Spencer Strider in the Phillies' Game 4 win, becoming the first player in MLB postseason history to have back-to-back multi-home run games.

His torrid stretch of hitting in Games 3 and 4 of the series came after he said the Phillies 'thrive after we get punched in the face' in the aftermath of their crushing Game 2 loss in Atlanta.

Castellanos clearly backed up the comment, with a total line of 5/7, 4 HR and 4 RBI in the next two contests. The team obviously backed it up as well, winning Games 3 and 4 by a combined score of 13-3 and advancing to their second-straight NLCS.

The Phillies outfielder was asked again about those comments after the series clinching win:

"That was a perfect way to lose that second game," Castellanos said to Scott Franzke here on 94WIP. "Just because I got to see them celebrate on the field, and see them jump up and down and be so happy. I think that put me in a good mental space for being able to come home."

Castellanos and the red-hot Phillies now have homefield advantage in the NLCS against a surprising Arizona Diamondbacks squad. The first game is Monday at 8:07 p.m. eastern and can be heard here on 94WIP.
