Giglio: Rob Thomson is a great manager, sometimes does not get enough credit

Today is the two-year anniversary of the firing of Phillies manager Joe Girardi and the subsequent start of Rob Thomson's managerial tenure in Philadelphia.

Joe Giglio believes Thomson is actually underrated in Philadelphia.

"I think the guy is a great manager," Giglio said on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show with Hugh Douglas. "I actually sometimes think we don't give him enough credit for what he did. He took over a team that looked dead in 2022 and all of the sudden they got red hot and found themselves in the World Series. And now, in his first two full years, last year they go to the NLCS and this year they're on pace to be the greatest Phillies team of all-time. I think Topper is a great manager and that move two years ago changed the whole course of the franchise."

Thomson has won 196 of 333 regular season games as Phillies manager, the eighth most by a manager to begin their career over the last 60 years. He is also 5-2 in seven postseason series'.
