Scott Franzke is one of the best and he proved it again on Friday night.
With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Phillies and Mets tied 1-1, Mets first baseman Daniel Vogelbach hit a line drive to left field with Starling Marte on third base.
Matt Vierling made the catch and threw Marte, who was tagging on the play, out at home plate to keep the game tied and send it into extra innings, where the Phillies would go on to win 2-1, they're best win of the season.
Here's Franzke's call of the play.
The Phils improved to 63-49 with the win. Game two of the three game series at the Mets is tonight at 7:10pm.
