The 76ers will reportedly be without one of their budding stars for the foreseeable future.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Maxey will miss the next 3-4 weeks with a "bone injury" in his left foot after undergoing an MRI on Saturday. Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the injury is a small fracture.
X-rays on Maxey's foot were negative, but the MRI revealed his injury, which he suffered in the second half of Friday night's win over the Bucks. He missed the second half with the injury, and was in a walking boot after the game.
Maxey was fouled and landed awkwardly on his foot, shot his two free throws, and limped off the court, spoiling what had been one of the best halves of his career, scoring 24 points while shooting 9-for-12 from the field. On the season, he is averaging 22.9 points per game while shooting 42.2 percent from downtown.
