The announcement was made via video by YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk, revealing, Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo, who have not been seen as a group since late 2023, will not only be making their comeback, but will also be embarking on a world tour.
“There will be a highly anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK, and it will also be the year BLACKPINK starts their world tour," Yang said.
While exact tour dates or album announcements weren’t revealed, in the four-minute video Yang said that though there are no solid plans for YG artists going into the new year, “a lot of artists [within the company] will be active simultaneously.” Which in addition to BLACKPINK’s comeback, also includes the reunion of veteran group 2NE1, a world tour for rookies BABYMONSTER, and the creation of a new girl group.
