The New York City hotspot originally opened in 2003 has seen countless celebrities enter its doors and through it’s success has inspired the launch of numerous 40/40 iterations in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Brooklyn and Atlanta.
In the past, the club has been a known hangout for celebrities including Floyd Mayweather Jr., Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, his wifey Beyoncé of course, and was even graced as the location for a Barack Obama fundraiser.
As a result of the pandemic, many staffers were let go and have not returned, leaving much needed assistance for businesses beginning to open there doors back up.
With plans set for an August 4 opening, just in time to celebrate it’s 18th year, JAY is looking to hire 100 staffers, including bartenders and servers, which open calls were held for over the weekend.
Potential staffers showcased their skills during an audition process, and if hired will join the staff - the latter of which receiving payment of $20 per hour, a good $5 higher than the city’s regulatory minimum wage, and that’s not even including tips.
