His vibe right now, is just living life, and Travis Barker is doing just that in his “surprisingly tranquil Calabasas abode,” well at least that’s how Architectural Digest put it, as they recently toured the drummer’s recently remodeled home.

While he’s lived in his house and has been a neighbor to his now wife Kourtney Kardashian, for over 15 years, Travis told AD that while he was out touring for about a years time he took the opportunity to refresh the rambunctious house his children grew up in into a more zen, minimal oasis, with the help of, Los Angeles interior designer Waldo Fernandez.
"I've had homes with lots of flashy cars, murals, and bikes hanging from the ceiling. But with three children of my own, plus Kourtney's kids, this place felt right for this moment in my life," Barker told AD. "I wanted a house where I can rest and enjoy my family, a place where we can create memories.”
And after Barker gave Fernandez carte-blanche to remodel the home, at which time he was advised to stay away until ready, that’s exactly what he got. A clean space, with minimalist decor, indoor/outdoor living, neutral colors and several fireplaces.
“When I come home from long tours or long nights at the studio, it’s just a place to rest my head,” he said from his living room, which is decorated with a banzai tree and works by cult-favorite artists Raymond Pettibon and Wes Lang.
In the kitchen TV room area, Fernandez replaced vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting with heightened, flat ceilings to create clean lines. “I like clean space, it allows me to think,” Barker said. “And it doesn’t like crowd my vibe.”
But don’t get it twisted though, Travis’s home is not a complete blank space. While he did mention not liking a lot of stuff around, he has filled the space with collections of his favorite things, and mementos like the portrait from Penelope and a painted plate from Kourtney that perfectly pair with a few other elements that reflect his rockstar roots, including a a concrete ping-pong table, a vibrating bed, vibrant artwork, and an at-home studio.
