CNN reports that beginning this fall, the retail giant will begin testing the option of adding a Starbucks order for customers picking up their items.

At the beginning, the option will only be available at select locations to gauge interest, though, Target calls adding Starbucks to curbside pickups a “top request" from customers.

What does this mean for you? You can pick up your shopping, groceries, and coffee in one fell swoop without even leaving the car.

The option simply elevates the long-running partnership Target has with the coffee chain, which has branded coffee shops located within stores.

The new feature will allow shoppers to place a Starbucks order directly in the Target app without having to indicate a pick up time. When they press that they’re “on their way”, the baristas will prep the order so that it's fresh.

A Target employee will then deliver the whole order – coffee included – right to your car.

“Our guests continue to tell us they love the ease and convenience of Drive Up, and have been asking us to add even more of the Target experience to the service. Adding Starbucks ordering and easy returns, while expanding our backup item options, will give guests even more of what they love about shopping at Target, quickly and easily,” Mark Schindele, Target’s chief stores officer, said in the press release.

In addition to testing curbside returns, the corporation is also expanding its “backup item” options for online and in-app pickup purchases so that customers can choose a secondary item if the one they want is sold out.

Since the onset of the pandemic, Target has been expanding curbside services and adding new features to the app that allows customers to pick up alcohol and add a “shopping partner” to pick up orders.
