Dixie Brewing Company’s grand opening is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. at the Brewery’s new location 3501 Jourdan Road.

“Our goal was to take advantage of this opportunity zone and create a business that would serve as a catalyst for tourism and local jobs, so that this area can once again become a thriving community,” owner Gayle Benson said. “This project is a long-term investment in an area that traditionally has not benefitted to the same extent as others. We have worked diligently with city leaders, specifically Mayor Cantrell and Councilwoman Nguyen on the economic development of the surrounding community to attract, retain and grow business in New Orleans East.”

The newly constructed, 85,000 sq. ft. Dixie Brewery is kid and canine-friendly and features guided and self-guided tours, a museum, taproom, beer tastings, an outdoor beer garden, bocce ball courts, a walking path and a full-service kitchen which features menu items from award winning Louisiana chef, Micah Martello, of Fete au Fete Streatery.

The brewery will also boastd six new beers to try in addition to the flagship Dixie, Dixie Light and Blackened Voodoo brand including three new IPAs, a coffee and chicory stout and a raspberry white ale.

Following the grand opening, the brewery will be open Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
