I knew when I decided to jump onto the New Orleans Breakers' bandwagon that I was going to experience some ups and downs. Hell, I live in New Orleans, just check the track record of any other sports team in this town. In fact, I don't know why we call committing to a sports teams' fan base a 'bandwagon', it's more like a 'roller coaster'.

Being a part of the Breakers bandwagon means you'd have to expect and accept some loss, but it takes an undeniable toll when that loss comes in high-stakes situations.

The New Orleans Breakers had the opportunity to not only become the Southern division leaders, but to have the distinct pleasure of being the only undefeated team in the entire USFL. All they had to do was put an ass whoopin' on the Birmingham Stallions in similar fashion to the ass whoopin' they dished out against Tampa Bay in Week 2.

New Orleans had the momentum going into Week 3 by having the most dominant victory in USFL history against Tampa Bay in Week 2. Birmingham was coming in with their 2nd String QB. New Orleans was supposed to have Home Field Advantage, but in reality, the Breakers were the HTINO (Home Team In Name Only). Since all of the USFL games are played in the same stadium in Birmingham, the Birmingham fan base showed up in good numbers, completely cancelling any notion that New Orleans was a home team.

The first quarter was highly defensive with neither team allowing the other to score. It was a break down in the Breakers' defense that allowed Birmingham to get on the board in the second quarter. Breakers answered back with QB Sloter connecting to WR Dixon for a New Orleans TD, but that damn Kicker MacGinnis just can't seem place the ball where it needs to be.

As the game went on, there was some high spots and some low points. The Breakers had some good hustle, an awesome interception by Crosswell, but Sloter getting sacked 3 times and suffering a devastating late game pick, along with Stallions' Scooby Wright being all over the place with 17 tackles were too much for New Orleans to overcome.

But, no worries (expect for MacGinnis), I'm still on my Breakers' Bandwagon and I'm going to ride the wave for better or worse this entire season! Looking forward to the meeting with the Houston Gamblers. If Sloter comes in with a healed groin, I'm sure we have the 'W' in the bag. We just have to watch out for sloppy penalties and improve (or replace) the kicking game. #GeauxBlueWave
