With the New Orleans Saints out of the play-off picture, the announcement of Coach Sean Payton's retirement and the uncertainty of the future of the franchise, the Who Dat Nation have little to nothing to get excited about the upcoming big game. That was until the Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals pulled off a dramatic overtime win against Patrick Mahomes and the KC Chiefs during the AFC Championship game.
Burrow's performance during the AFC championship game was reminiscent of his 2019 college QB run, leading the LSU Tigers through an undefeated championship season. It wasn't long after that AFC win that the Who Dat Nation scrambled to the internet and started claiming 'Smokin Jeaux Burreaux' and fellow LSU alum Ja'Marr Chase as their own. The more knowledgeable Saints fans also pointed out how many former Saints players were on the field making game-changing plays.
It's obvious that us Saints fans in New Orleans desperately want something to cheer for and get behind for this year's big game, so we've decided to attach ourselves to anything that has some sort of local connect to us. And Joe Burrow is definitely a proven hero and Heisman trophy winner we can get behind.
The Who Dat Nation would like to formally ask the Who Dey Nation, may we borrow Burrow? Let's face it, Burrow was our Tiger before he was your Tiger. We promise we'll give him back right after the big game and we figure out what our franchise is going to do about a Head Coach and starting quarterback. We will, under no circumstances, yell "Who Dey!" (What the hell does "Who Dey" even mean?)
