A long-standing legal battle between the Flintstone House homeowner and the City of Hillsborough has come to a final close, ending in a major settlement payout.
Florence Fang is the proud owner of the iconic Flintstone House, located in San Mateo County. The property has gained Bay Area fame as the bulbous orange and purple home seen on the drive down Interstate 280.

A settlement has been made between the city and the homeowner which saw Fang receive $125,000 and permits to keep her modifications if she would drop a countersuit, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Fang purchased the house in 2017 and began adding dinosaurs and a large sign which read "Yabba Dabba Doo" to the property, among other modifications.
The Hillsborough Building Department issued a number of Stop Work Notices between 2017 and 2018 before eventually citing her for code violations.
Tensions between Fang and the city escalated in 2019 when a lawsuit was filed against her, calling the home a public nuisance and alleging that the "project violated multiple sections of the Municipal Code due to the lack of design approvals and permits."
Fang counter-sued Hillsborough on claims that she was a "victim of discrimination and harassment by town employees."
To the city, the Flintstone House may be an "eyesore," but, as Fang's lawyer said to the paper, "the property is her happy place."
