Once upon a time in Los Angeles, Limp Bizkit's front man, Fred Durst, happened to come across legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen. During the encounter, Durst convinced the Van Halen brother that it would be cool if he'd make a surprise appearance at a venue Durst's band was playing. Eddie Van Halen obliged and showed up at the gig.
While at the venue, Eddie Van Halen wasn't feeling the vibe and saw that some of the Limp Bizkit's fans were engaging in activities that he wasn't comfortable with. Eddie decided to cut out early, but in doing so, he left his guitar and other gear at the venue.
The next day, Eddie Van Halen called Fred Durst to retrieve his equipment, but didn't hear back from Durst in a timely manner.
