Restaurant Claims 'Labour Inducer' Burger Has Helped 31 Women Give Birth

A restaurant claims that its ‘Labor Inducer’ burger helped 31 women give birth.

The Suburban restaurant in Excelsior, Minnesota, says that their 'Labour Inducer' burger is capable of making heavily pregnant women go into labor within 24 hours of eating. In fact, it claims that 31 women have already gone into labor after eating it, including the restaurant’s co-owner herself.

As listed on the eatery’s website, The burger is made with beef, caramelized onions, spicy Cajun remoulade, mustard, and honey-cured bacon. It's all wrapped up in a pretzel bun.

The restaurant came into being in 2019 when the family who owns the restaurant prepared to enter a contest. Kelsey Berset, a co-owner alongside her mother and sister Cindy, was pregnant at the time and gave it a whirl. She said "I figured I was 38 weeks pregnant, so why not indulge? About six hours later, my contractions started." And hence the specific name was given to the burger.

There is no real scientific evidence to suggest that eating foods can help induce labor as there's no known link between the stomach and the uterus. Stories persist that suggest eating foods such as spicy mustard - which is on the burger - can help induce labor, but again there's no hard and fast link.
