Robot Police officers, or robot dog cops were just introduced in New York City. At a cost of $74,000 each, authorities there say they can be an asset to the NYPD.
I wouldn't want one of these things chasing me down the street, they freak me out a bit. But if they can help a police force, more power to them. We will see how well they work.
If they work like authorities hope they do, perhaps other police forces in the country will want to use them. Technology really is amazing when it works the way it's supposed to work. Hopefully these robot dog cops are good robot dogs, and not bad robot dogs.
