It's understood that soccer isn't very popular in the United States compared to football, basketball, baseball and hockey. Heck, in some parts of the country, cock fighting is more popular.
But when the USA men's soccer team lost last night to Honduras 2-1, they failed to qualify for the Olympics for the third time in a row. Soccer is the most popular sport on planet earth, just not here in the USA. Though the USA women's soccer team has recently won Olympic gold, yet the men's team can't even get into the Olympics.
With all of the soccer mom's you hear about in the USA, you'd think we would be able to produce a men's squad that could at least qualify for the Olympics, but no. When, if ever, will the United States field a competitive men's soccer team on the world stage?
