LISTEN NOW: Audacy Live interview with The Revivalists
The Revivalists guitarist Zack Feinberg and singer David Shaw joined Audacy host Brad Steiner at the Hard Rock Hotel in NYC to fill fans in on what's been happening the past few years.
Over their five-year break, Zack became a new dad, admitting fatherhood is "a lot different than not having twin babies... it's a lot of work and time commitment and everything, but it's incredible." He says now that they're both two, he sees both kids enjoying music already, his son Jude getting really into drumming already.
Singer David is now a married man, wed in 2020, although he and his wife had already been together for the past nine years. "I'm doing the dishes more often, let's just say that" he admits. "It's been a very reproductive period for us," Zack adds. "Wait, I told the joke wrong, I meant productive. But it still works."
The new record released at the beginning of June, Pour It Out Into The Night, "absolutely" has hints of everything the members of the group have gone through since we last heard from them. "There's hints of that in many of the songs," says David. "We're pretty autobiographical writers. We like to put some fiction in there sometimes but a lot of it's just our life, the things that are happening around us, things that are happening to our friends."
Always hopeful, "we always try to have a little bit of thread of that in there. We can take you down and drag you down on the floor, but then we're gonna help you back up. We're gonna get you back up to that place where you wanna be."
