“Uncle Mitch is still in and out of consciousness. He’s on life support,” Milano said in a TikTok. “My brother went there yesterday and played him some oldies, and his whole body started moving. So, he really loved that. The nurses at the UCLA Medical Center and the doctors are taking such incredible care of Uncle Mitch, but he’s got a long road ahead of him.”

“Uncle Mitch is a fighter,” she said. “The doctors say that every day is a miracle that he still hangs on.”

The actress also urged her followers to get their CPR certification and said, “You could be called upon to save a life at some point, and it’s really, really valuable to know how to do that.”

On August 17, authorities confirmed that Milano was “uninjured” while her uncle was quickly taken to the hospital after the accident on a Los Angeles freeway.

A press release from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that Milano was not driving and was a passenger of the 2020 Ford Edge SUV. The car was driven by Mitchell J. Carp, 63, who was unconscious and suffered a medical emergency.

Milano said the vehicle drifted into another lane on the freeway when the car hit a passing Black SUV. The actress told officials on the scene that she felt the collision on the right side of the vehicle. In the release, it read, “with the assistance of a good Samaritan, they were eventually able to bring the Ford to a stop between the #1 and #2 lanes.”

CHP reported that the Black SUV left the scene of the accident.

TMZ was first to report the collision, and sources on the scene say Milano gave CPR to her uncle before an ambulance arrived.

Milano was described as “the uninjured passenger” in the report and was picked up by her husband, David Bugliari.
