NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Seth Meyers announced Tuesday morning he tested positive for COVID-19 in a breakthrough case and will cancel shows for the rest of the week.
"The bad news is, I tested positive for COVID (thanks, 2022!) the good news is, I feel fine (thanks vaccines and booster!) We are canceling the rest of the shows this week, so tune in next Monday to see what cool location we will try and pass off as a studio!!!" the NBC's "Late Night" host tweeted.
Meyer's announcement followed that of NBC's "Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon, who revealed on Instagram Monday that he tested positive for COVID-19 on the first day of his show's holiday break, despite being fully vaccinated and boosted.
Fallon credited his "lucky" mild symptoms due to his vaccination and booster status.
He also thanked medical professionals for their efforts to get people vaccinated as well as NBC's COVID-19 protocols.
"Thank you to the doctors and nurses who work so hard around the clock to get everyone vaxxed," he added. "Thank you to NBC for taking the testing protocols so seriously and doing a great job - and also thanks for putting me in the 'What ‘chu talkin’ about Willis?' isolation room when they told me the news."
