All that time spent at home during the pandemic has taken its toll on people in many different ways; for some it was all sweatpants and binge-watching, others turned the abundance of extra time into learning experiences.
Buckcherry frontman Josh Todd took the latter route. Aside from recording a brand new record, the 51-year-old also became a fully certified phlebotomist.

Speaking with Trunk Nation host Eddie Trunk, Todd recently explained how he's "not one that really sits around for too long. I never get on the pity potty. I just go, ‘Okay, what am I gonna do with this time? I’ve got all this time. How can I utilize it wisely?’"
So, a new record and a new trade came about. "I became a certified phlebotomist during the lockdown, and I served L.A. County for four months out at a COVID clinic," Todd explained. "So, I did that... after the Hellbound record was written. A lot of interesting things I did during the lockdown. But that was one of ’em."
Describing his time learning how to draw blood, Josh says he "went to a two-week program where you stick and you get stuck a lot by students. And then you’ve gotta take a national exam, and I did that, as well, and I passed that. And then you get out in the field and do your thing. And that’s what I did for, like I said, four months out in downtown L.A... And it was interesting."
Buckcherry's brand new album Hellbound is out now and they're currently on the road to support the new release.
