A private funeral ceremony is expected for family and close friends and family.

Turner initially rose to fame in the 1960s after meeting Ike Turner and becoming a lead vocalist in his band.

The pair went on to marry in 1962 and continued on the path of immense success throughout the 1970’s with songs like “Proud Mary,” "It's Gonna Work Out Fine" and "River Deep - Mountain High.”

The duo eventually split creatively in 1976 and ended their marriage in 1978 prompting Turner to launch a solo career in the 1980s which has been called one of the greatest musical comebacks of all time.

Tina was an 8-time GRAMMY winner and told her truth in her 2018 autobiography, My Love Story, which detailed the abuse she suffered from ex-husband Ike.

Tina’s life was honored with a Broadway Musical in 2019, a production she got to enjoy for herself from the audience alongside fans.
