Former Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola made big news in recent days with the proclamation that it was Tom Brady who truly defined the Patriot Way.

One of his former teammates, Aqib Talib doesn't totally agree.

Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show Wednesday, Talib -- who played with the Patriots in 2012 and 2013 -- offered insight into what is truly makes up the Patriot Way.

"The Patriot Way is the Patriot Way, man," Talib said. "This is what I feel like: The Patriot Way was, it don't matter who it is, we expect you to know your job. We expect you to not play around in this media. And we expect you to be on time. If you're doing (those) three things, that's the Patriot Way right there. No matter who it is, you get disciplined the same. Revis, if you come late you're gone for the whole day. If Tom Brady messes up in practice Bill is going to let you know in front of everybody. He might get on Tom, he might get on Gronk in front of everybody. He might get on them two quicker than he gets on the no-name guys just to set that tempo. I think super-accountability is AKA the Patriot Way.

"You have to have Bill ... To have a team, to have an organization at the top for that long it can't just be one person, bro. We're playing a super-team sport. So Tom is going to do his thing with the offense and Bill is going to do his thing with the vibe of the whole building because that's what you lose. You win the (championship), you lose the vibe of the building. He gets big-headed. He gets big-headed. You want to go. And Bill keeps replacing that (expletive) and replacing that (expletive) and replacing that (expletive). So that's what I feel the Patriot Way is, everybody knowing their role. You feel me? And no matter who you is, we're here to do a job and it's your job and your job and your job. I feel like it was kind of hand-in-hand. I don't know if Tom has all those (championships) without Bill and I don't know if Bill has all those (championships) without Tom."
