A quick look at Baker Mayfield’s first-half numbers paint a pretty picture – 11 of 16 for 158 yards and two touchdown passes.

Yet, there was one incompletion that overshadowed it all.

With the Browns up 7-6 on the Jaguars in the second quarter, Cleveland was set up in prime position to tack on six points with a 1st-and-goal from the Jacksonville 5-yard line.

Mayfield dropped back to pass and had Rashard Higgins wide open over the middle of the end zone, however, Mayfield missed his mark by overthrowing Higgins. To make matters worse, Kareem Hunt also appeared to be wide open underneath.

According to Next Gen Stats, Higgins had 10.44 yards of separation from the nearest defender and an 86% chance of completion.

The Browns were unable to find the endzone on the next two plays, either, settling for a field goal to go up 10-7 instead of 14-6. The Jaguars held a 20-17 lead early in the third quarter so it remains to be seen if this will come back to haunt them.

Mayfield, on the other hand, was subjected to jokes and criticism on Twitter after missing a wide open receiver for the second consecutive week. Oh yes, the 50 Cent first pitch made an appearance:
