Tuukka Rask returned Thursday night for his first game since March 7, but he lasted just one period before re-aggravating his upper-body injury and leaving the game.

Now he'll miss at least two more games. Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said Friday that his No. 1 goalie won't play in either Saturday's game against the Sabres or Sunday's against the Devils.

"Tuukka was in this morning. He will be getting treatment. He will not play this weekend," Cassidy said. "And then we’ll go from there. Don’t believe there’s anything major there, but obviously something’s going on where he had to leave the game again with a similar injury to last time.

"So we’ll have to make sure it gets looked at and make the right call the next time -- I guess not make the right call. We assumed he was ready to play. That’s why he was in. He said he was, medical staff, but obviously we have to keep a closer eye on it if it’s something that’s gonna flare up."

Dan Vladar was back with the team for Friday's practice. Cassidy did not disclose whether he would start either game this weekend, or if Jaroslav Halak will start both. Vladar stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced in his first NHL start and first NHL win against the Penguins last week.

In other injury news, Cassidy said right wing Karson Kuhlman was going for an MRI Friday after getting hit in the hand with a shot Thursday night. Cassidy said he was unable to hold a stick Friday and will miss at least Saturday's game. Kuhlman scored his first goal since last February earlier in the game.

Zach Senyshyn, also just returning from an injury himself, is expected to take Kuhlman's spot in the lineup on the third line next to Charlie Coyle and Anders Bjork.

Cassidy also said that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon, who underwent surgery on a fractured hand last month, is "very, very close" to returning, but that he still needs some more practice reps and won't play Saturday.

Brandon Carlo, working his way back from a concussion suffered on March 5, skated before Friday's practice along with Kevan Miller and Ondrej Kase, but has not been cleared for contact yet.
