The Bruins' COVID list is growing again. After they had gone from 13 down to zero for a brief period of time, they are now back up to seven people total after announcing on Wednesday morning that Tomas Nosek and a team staff member have been placed in protocol.

Nosek becomes the third Bruins player currently in protocol, joining fellow forwards Karson Kuhlman and Jake DeBrusk. They also now have four staff members, including assistant coach Kevin Dean, on the COVID list.

The loss of Nosek is a blow to the Bruins' bottom six, which has really come to life since Boston's return from its two-week pause. Nosek has been centering a fourth line that has scored four goals in the Bruins' last two games, with Nosek recording a goal and two assists himself while playing with Trent Frederic on his left and either Oskar Steen (Sunday) or Curtis Lazar (Tuesday) on his right.

With the NHL's revised protocols, Nosek could be cleared to return in five days. He will likely miss the next two, possibly three, games.

With Nosek out, Frederic shifted to center at practice Wednesday with Anton Blidh re-entering the lineup at left wing to skate with Frederic and Lazar, according to the Boston Herald's Steve Conroy. Steen remains on the third line with Charlie Coyle and Nick Foligno.

The Bruins host the Minnesota Wild Thursday night before traveling to Tampa Bay to face the Lightning on Saturday.
