An interesting name is being linked with the Celtics.
According to Shams Charania, the Celts are one of three teams the Pelicans are targeting when it comes to a trade involving JJ Redick. The other two potential landing spots for the shooting guard are Philadelphia and Brooklyn.
The report states the Celtics have shown some interest.
The 36-year-old reportedly has a preference to be dealt to a team in the Northeast, with his family residing in Brooklyn.
While Redick has averaged 19.9 minutes and 7.9 points per game this season, he has logged back-to-back "Did Not Play - Coach's Decision" in the Pelicans most recent contests. In the two games prior, the former Duke star went a combined 1-for-10 from beyond the 3-point stripe.
While the 2020-21 season has been a struggle for Redick, he does possess the skill-set that might intrigue Danny Ainge and Co. He is coming off a 2019-20 campaign in which he averaged 15.3 points per game while shooting better than 45 percent from three-point territory.
