With their first overall pick in this year's NBA Draft -- and 14th overall -- the Celtics has taken Vanderbilt forward Aaron Nesmith.

"Best shooter in the Draft," said ESPN analyst Jay Bilas just after the pick was announced.

The 6-foot-8 Nesmith was compared to Bucks' swingman Khris Middleton by Vanderbilt coach Jerry Stackhouse.

“We compare him to Khris Middleton,’’ Stackhouse recently told the New York Post. “He’s perfect for the wing spot. He has the size. He has the strength and in addition to being a shooter, he is dedicated to the defensive side as well.”

Nesmith was limited to just 14 games last season (his sophomore campaign) due to a stress fracture in his right foot. In his shortened season he shot 52.2 percent from beyond the 3-point line after coming in at a 33.7 percent clip in his freshman year.

Here is a complete overall scouting report on Nesmith from NBA.com.
