Danny Amendola has always seemed a little salty when talking about Bill Belichick and the Patriots since his departure in 2018 as a free agent.
He once said Belichick was more like a "principal" and that playing for a player's coach like Adam Gase was "refreshing," and he also said that Belichick could be "an a**hole sometimes."
With Tom Brady going to another Super Bowl in his first season with the Buccaneers while the Patriots missed the playoffs, Amendola took another shot at Belichick and the Patriots on Monday while on FS1's "First Things First."
“When you see ‘Patriot Way’ in the dictionary, it’s gonna have Tom Brady’s name next to it,” Amendola said. “None of those coaches threw any passes. None of those coaches caught any passes. None of those coaches made any tackles. They got guys in the right position because they watched a lot of film and they spent all their time at the facility, but Tom Brady is ‘the Patriot Way.’ That’s the reason why Tom Brady’s in the Super Bowl right now and the Patriots aren’t.”
At least Amendola acknowledges the Patriots' coaches "got guys in the right position," but it's clear he believes Brady had far more to do with the two Super Bowls he won in New England than the coaches.
