Former Celtic Dino Radja: Jordan-LeBron debate makes me 'vomit'

At least one former NBA player is sick over basketball's GOAT debate.

Former Celtics forward Dino Radja suited up for Boston in the mid-1990s -- and for him, there's no question whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the league's greatest.

Radja apparently feels pretty strongly that his contemporary, MJ, is the clear-cut choice as best player in NBA history.

“When the comparisons between LeBron and Jordan start, I vomit,” Radja reportedly told a news outlet in his native Croatia.

“My son assures me that LeBron is better, but for me, it’s not a discussion," he said. "If he had played 20 years ago, LeBron wouldn’t have been able to do even half of this. Today, when LeBron enters the paint, everyone moves away from him. But Jordan was getting beaten like no one, and he still dominated."

The Jordan-LeBron debate has been renewed with a fervor in 2020, with the release of the hit ESPN documentary "The Last Dance" followed months later by James capturing his fourth career NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers.

But, amazingly, Radja is not even sure Jordan vs. LeBron is the right argument.

"In front of LeBron were Kobe Bryant and some others," Radja said. "I respect LeBron, but Kobe was better.”

The former Celtic and EuroLeague star averaged nearly 17 points per game in 33 minutes across four seasons from 1993-97. He was drafted by the Celtics in 1989 and was considered part of one of the first early waves of European players to join the NBA, though his arrival was delayed several years amid a dispute over his contractual rights by his EuroLeague team.

Radja was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018 for his exploits both in Europe and with the Celtics.
