DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - In the middle of Stephen Jones' visit with the GBag Nation on 105.3 The Fan Wednesday, the Cowboys COO offered up a comparison between his franchise quarterback and the G.O.A.T.
Jones was asked about the type of leadership Prescott displayed during the press conference to announce his new four-year, $160 million deal.
"Well, you want him in your foxhole, number one. The right guy has the biggest piece of the pie, as I said earlier today. He just checks every box in these key categories of leadership, (he has) this insatiable appetite to want to be the best, to outwork everybody. He's got that Michael Irvin quality to him, in terms of outworking (somebody) and competing. It's totally unfair to compare him to somebody like this, but, obviously, Tom Brady has that. He's just a fiery competitor... a winner and a leader. (He has) an insatiable appetite to be great."
Prescott, of course, has a long way to go to be placed in the same stratosphere as Brady, as the 43-year-old just won his seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in February. However, I also understand that he was just trying to heap praise on his franchise quarterback.
