Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday listed on Celtics injury report for Game 3 in Orlando

The Celtics will likely be without Jayson Tatum again for Game 3 in Orlando against the Magic on Friday night, as he is listed as doubtful due to the right distal radius bone bruise that sidelined him in Game 2.

The soon-to-be five-time All-NBA wing was listed as doubtful until about 45 minutes before tip-off on Wednesday night, before ultimately being ruled out. He did not warm up pregame at TD Garden, though head coach Joe Mazzulla said he was able to get on the court during shootaround.

“[Tuesday] he was able to do a little bit with the team. [Wednesday] he was able to get on the court,” Mazzulla said. “He’ll be day-to-day. I know he is doing anything he can to put himself in position to play. We just have to take it day-by-day.”

Tatum was on the Celtics’ bench for the Game 2 win with a black wrap on his right wrist. He hasn’t missed back-to-back games since the final two games of the 2023-24 season. The eighth-year pro has missed two or more consecutive games just four times in his career.

Jrue Holiday, who played a pivotal role in Game 1, was also added to the injury report with a right hamstring strain. Holiday played 36 minutes in Game 2, finishing with 11 points, six assists, four rebounds, and a block. He played the entire fourth quarter.

The six-time All-Defensive guard missed 20 games this season, none due to a hamstring injury.

Boston will hold shootaround at the Kia Center on Friday morning, which should provide more clarity on their status.
