The Los Angeles Lakers will be without LeBron James (Left Ankle Peroneal Tendinopathy) and Anthony Davis (Bilateral Achilles Tendinopathy and left hip spasm) when they take to the TD Garden parquet on Thursday night, the Lakers announced.

This marks the sixth game missed by James this season and the fourth for Davis. The Thursday night match concludes the two-game season series between the Celtics and Lakers, with the Celtics currently holding a 1-0 advantage. On Christmas day, Boston secured a 126-115 victory over Los Angeles, with Kristaps Porzingis contributing 28 points and Jayson Tatum contributing another 25.

In that Christmas game, Davis led the Lakers with an impressive 40-point and 13-rebound performance, while James finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

The purple and gold have also ruled out Cam Reddish (right ankle sprain) and Gabe Vincent (left knee surgery).

The Lakers have struggled since winning the In-Season Tournament crown, currently holding a 24-25 record and sitting tied for ninth place in the Western Conference. Despite reaching the Western Conference Finals last season, the team faces challenges on the road, with a 7-17 record away from home.

“When you play against the Lakers, Celtics-Lakers, I just learned that it doesn’t matter – records and things like that,” Al Horford said when discussing the rivalry at shootaround Thursday morning. “There’s just so much history behind it. The context is there. A large part of the NBA history has to do with these two franchises. I think the records, you can throw those out the window when we play against each other.”

As for the Celtics, Luke Kornet is listed as questionable due to left hamstring tightness.
