'Avocado to My Toast': Gisele Wishes Hubby Tom Brady Happy Birthday

By , Audacy Sports

Over the weekend, Tom Brady celebrated his 42nd birthday, and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, took to Instagram to wish him a happy birthday:

Her post read as follows: “Happy birthday to the love of my lifeeeey! Life is so much better because we can share it with you! Thank you for being our rock, and the avocado to my toast! We love you!”

It turned out to be quite the weekend for the Brady family. Beyond celebrating the birthday of the 14-time Pro-Bowler, Brady agreed to a two-year/$70 million contract extension with the Patriots that puts him under contract through 2021, which would be his age-44 season.

The much-talked-about extension came at the end of a week in which Brady signed with the William Morris Endeavor talent agency for off-field representation, and the Brady Bunch is reportedly shopping for homes in the NYC suburbs, leading some to speculate that the star quarterback is preparing for life after football.

During last Thursday’s NFL Hall of Fame Game, NBC’s Cris Colinsworth reacted to a highlight of an early 2000s playoff game by remarking how incredible it is that Tom Brady is still playing at an elite caliber nearly two decades later. The six-time Super Bowl Champion does seem to have father time at bay, and hopes that trend will continue into 2019, his 20th NFL season.

A sixth-round pick out of Michigan in the 2000 NFL Draft, Brady will enter the 2019 season with 70,514 career passing yards, good for fourth in NFL history. In 2018, he played all 16 regular season games for the 15th time in his illustrious career, tossing 29 touchdowns and throwing for 4,577 yards, the 10th 4,000 plus yard passing season of his career.

Though there’s often been speculation about what role Gisele may play in deciding Brady’s future, the three-time NFL MVP has guided the Patriots to eight-straight appearances in the AFC Championship Game. There’s little indication that Brady won’t be able to achieve his stated goal of playing into his mid-forties.
