With their third pick of the Major League Draft (75th overall) the Red Sox selected North Carolina State second baseman Tyler McDonough.
McDonough, who came to NC State as a catcher, has played both second base and the outfield for the Wolfpack and projects as someone who can move around all over the diamond.
The 22-year-old Ohio native is a switch-hitter who hit .339 with a 1.054 OPS and 15 home runs his junior season in 2021.
