Together Tom Brady and Terry Bradshaw share 11 Super Bowl victories.

If TB12 ever actually stops playing and retires, someday the duo will share bust space in Canton at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

They also obviously share the initial T.B.

And one day, nearly 40 years ago, they shared the same name.

Thanks to the wonder of Twitter, a story about the day that Bradshaw apparently used Brady’s name as an alias to check into a Louisiana hospital for elbow surgery has resurfaced.

Why would Bradshaw use the fake name of a quarterback more famous, more successful and more notable than him for an alias of “Thomas Brady”?

Because Bradshaw used the alias in 1983, when the future GOAT Tom Brady was not yet a teenager never mind a world famous superstar!

Hard as it is to believe, it’s true as you can see from the tweet below as well as the link to a story regarding the stunning coincidence that almost feels like it’s from an episode of Quantum Leap, Back to the Future or a cross-film tie-in within the Marvel cinematic universe.

The New York Times archive also corroborates the story.
